GREETINGS, EVERYONE! Tomorrow is the Lord's Day, the sweetest and best day of the week, for that is when we gather as one body to remember Christ's bodily resurrection from the dead. We also take this time to preach the Gospel and look forward to that day when we will rise to meet our Lord.

THE LORD'S DAY (4/3)
  • ANNIE ARMSTRONG EASTER OFFERING FOR NORTH AMERICAN MISSIONS. Our church goal was $1200, and the nationwide goal is $70 million. You gave $1091 which is 90% of our goal. While the official giving period is over, you can still designate an offering to "AAEO" and help us reach that goal. For more information on how your gifts are utilized, visit anniearmstrong.org/your-gifts-at-work.
  • Bible Study for All Ages, 9:30 am. There is no better time than the present to join a Sunday morning Bible study. Age-graded classes from nursery through high school plus four non-age graded classes for adults are available. Come on out and bring the whole family!
  • Worship Together at 10:40 in the Sanctuary. Sermon subject will be "Lord, Teach Us to Pray" from Luke 11:1-13, in which Jesus teaches His disciples the basics of prayer.
  • Scriptures for Sunday. Here are the Scriptures we will be reading that will shape our corporate worship. Take a few moments to read and meditate on them. Also, we have seven different Scriptures in our morning worship, so they make a great resource for personal or family worship Sunday through Saturday. Click anywhere on the link to see a printable version of these passages on biblegateway.com
    • Fighter Verses: Ephesians 4:31-32
    • Call to Worship: Psalm 126
    • Old Testament Reading: Isaiah 43:16-21
    • New Testament Reading: Philippians 3:4-14
    • Assurance of Pardon: Isaiah 44:22
    • Sermon Text: Luke 11:1-13
    • Benediction: Numbers 6:24-26

  • Ukraine Relief. Thank you for your gifts to provide humanitarian aid to refugees fleeing Ukraine for Poland, Romania, and other bordering nations. You have given $900 so far! We are currently forwarding those offerings through Send Relief, the humanitarian relief arm of our International Mission Board. Another method of contribution is through our Missouri Baptist Convention Disaster Relief team. If you would like to give directly to that effort, click HERE for more information. One of the things they are doing is providing ready-to-eat meals consisting of a loaf of bread (baked by local Ukrainian bakeries), a jar of sausage spread (a local favorite), and a cake. This costs $2 and will feed a person for one day.
  • OUTREACH/MINISTRY VISITATION,  4 - 6 pm. We will be reaching out initially to folks who have visited First Baptist within the last year or two, taking them a gift and an invitation to join us on the following Sundays (Palm Sunday and Easter Sunday). The more folks out to make visits, the less time it will take to accomplish the task. We will also reach out to folks who are on our membership roster but who have not attended in some time. We will come back to the church for a time of reports, debriefing, and prayer. All ages are welcome to come and join us!
MONDAY (4/4)

  • Kids' Club at 3:20 - 5:15 pm
  • Worship Choir Rehearsal at 5:45 pm. We are working on music for Easter Sunday and would like to field several more members for this special event. Wouldn't it be great to see a solid 15 or more singers leading in praise that morning? We're not that far away from that goal! Talk to Pastor Kyle if you are interested in joining with us so that he can have a folder ready for you. See you Wednesday in the Sanctuary!

COMING UP:
  • Lord's Supper and Benevolent Offering, Sunday, April 10. We encourage you to be present next Sunday as we hear the gospel and see it put on display in the ordinance of the Lord's Supper. We will also receive a benevolent offering which is administered by our deacons to serve benevolent needs of our church family. Please take time to prepare your heart to receive the Lord's Supper by engaging in self-examination. Some starter questions to use for self-examination are attached to this email.
  • Missouri Music Men will be singing at FBC Sedalia on Thursday, April 21. Pastor Kyle and I will be going down for that event as will other ministers from all around the state. Pray for this as an outreach to the community of Sedalia. You can also join us as the concert will be livestreamed. More information on this later.
  • NEW CHURCH SIGN UPDATE: We received another gift of $1,000 this week towards a new message board sign to replace our current sign on the front lawn. That brings our current total above the $8,500 mark. Thank you for giving! If you would like to give to this effort, please designate funds "Church Sign."
