GREETINGS, EVERYONE! We had a great time attending Midland Ministries' "Movie-Pizza-Ice Skating" event last night in St. Joe with about a hundred other teens and sponsors. God worked in the hearts of several of our teens as the Gospel was clearly communicated. I would like to thank the eight students and two other parents who represented our church. You did so very well, and I am so thankful to see new interest in the things of the Lord among our teens.

MAN KNOWS NOT HIS TIME: We extend Christian sympathy to the family of Gary Hall who passed away on Tuesday evening after a hospitalization. Gary was husband to Jeannie Stahl Hall and brother-in-law to Randy & Mary Morrow, Larry & Alice Stahl, Laura Ruth Barnes, Ronnie and Lou Stahl, and all the Stahl siblings. Services are tentatively scheduled for Saturday, April 9, here at First Baptist under the direction of Turner Family Funeral Homes. Finalized times will be published when they are available. (Many will remember that Gary and Jeannie participated in our fellowship for several months as they were moving from Georgia to St. Joseph a few years ago, helping in VBS and generally encouraging myself and all of us by their presence and participation). BONUS: We will be singing a song by Keith and Kristyn Getty and Matt Papa tomorrow entitled "Christ, Our Hope in Life and Death." The choir will be introducing it as an ensemble, but we want you to learn it and add it to your worship song arsenal. Take a listen to the choir and orchestra of FBC Dallas, TX, sharing it and leading that congregation in worship through it. It is based on words from the first question and answer in the Heidelberg Catechism, "What is your only comfort in life and in death?" Answer, "That I am not my own, but belong - body and soul, in life and in death - to my faithful Savior, Jesus Christ." What immense comfort these words bring to the heart of a believer in Jesus! See you in church! Grace and peace, Pastor Greg GREETINGS, EVERYONE! We continue to pray for our Ukrainian brothers and sisters as the conflict with Russia persists. Thank you for the $460 given so far for the relief efforts through Send Relief. If you would like to give, you may designate your offering envelope "Ukraine Relief" or give online here. Last week, I shared links to articles pointing to what the Lord is doing in the midst of the conflict. Below are more encouraging stories that will also help you know how to pray for fellow believers as well as for those who are coming to Christ through the evangelistic efforts of many in that part of the world.

BONUS: Pastor Kyle and I were blessed to be able to travel to Bolivar on Thursday (despite the snow) and participate in the Missouri Music Men concert at First Baptist Church there. We had an outstanding group out for the day of rehearsal and presentation. If you would like to view and listen to the concert, it is available on the MMM Facebook page here. Enjoy! See you in church! Grace and peace, Pastor Greg GREETINGS, EVERYONE! We continue to pray for our Ukrainian brothers and sisters as the conflict with Russia persists. Some have sought refuge in neighboring countries. Missionary friends of ours serving with Campus Crusade in Poland have received some Ukrainian refugees. Others are choosing to find safer places within Ukraine to stay. While this is the season when we typically focus on our North American mission offering (Annie Armstrong Easter Offering or "AAEO"), if you have to choose I would suggest the more immediate need is Ukraine relief. You may designate your offering envelope "Ukraine Relief" or give online here.

BONUS: The Imperials recorded this song "Lord of the Harvest" in 1982. Here they are singing it at Six Flags Over Texas in 1984, way before Autotune (get a load of their cool backdrop!). I thought it might be good preparation for our time in the word of God tomorrow as we look at Luke 10:1-16. Take a listen and be blessed. See you in church! Grace and peace, Pastor Greg |
