We are on Week 35. BONUS: A book that I recommended during my breakout session at the men's conference this morning is entitled Finding Grace in the Face of Dementia by John Dunlop, MD. This title from Crossway appears to be a valuable resource for folks who are dealing with this important subject in one way or another. I have not read it yet, but it comes highly recommended by Dennis Rainey of Family Life Today and D. A. Carson, professor of New Testament at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. I am placing this book in our church library so that it will be available to you. See you in church! Grace and peace, Pastor Greg

Greetings, everyone!
TODAY the deacons are sponsoring a water distribution station at the Farmer's Market at Pony Express RV Park, 8 am - noon. We will be sharing the love of Jesus in a tangible way with the patrons and seek to engage them with the Gospel in a winsome way. If you can come out to help at any point during the morning, I encourage you to do so. We will be on the porch of the main building of the park. THE LORD'S DAY is TOMORROW! This Sunday is Disaster Relief Sunday, and we will be recognizing the many volunteers who are involved in disaster relief efforts, both in Missouri and across the country. Some of our church's own DR volunteers will be sharing about DR at the end of the service and highlighting training opportunities coming up. If you would like more information on those opportunities, visit mobaptist.org/dr/dr-training. Here are the Scriptures we will be reading in the morning service. TODAY the MACH IV Men's Ministry meeting has been cancelled due to a number of conflicts. We will pick back up in September, Lord willing. THE LORD'S DAY is TOMORROW! The words of John Newton's hymn are often on my mind as I prepare for the Lord's Day. I encourage you to think on these words: 1 Safely through another week God has brought us on our way; let us now a blessing seek, waiting in his courts today; day of all the week the best, emblem of eternal rest. 2 While we pray for pard'ning grace through the dear Redeemer's name, show thy reconciled face; take away our sin and shame; from our earthly cares set free, may we rest this day in thee. 3 Here we come thy name to praise; let us feel thy presence near; may thy glory meet our eyes while we in thy house appear; here afford us, Lord, a taste of our everlasting feast. 4 May thy gospel's joyful sound conquer sinners, comfort saints; may the fruits of grace abound, bring relief for all complaints; thus may all our Sabbaths prove, 'til we join the church above. Here are the Scriptures for use in the morning service. Please spend a few moments reading and meditating on them. ICYMI: Last Sunday’s Message will be posted at a later date Please visit our YouTube Channel to see the edited service video. READ THROUGH THE BIBLE schedule is attached. We are on Week 33. BONUS: Many these days are concerned about the COVID-19 vaccines. Earnest Christians come to different conclusions concerning whether one should or should not receive the COVID-19 shot. The majority of Christians very likely consider the answer to that question to be a matter of personal liberty and conviction. But what about the boundaries of governmental authority or employer authority when it comes to this issue? Owen Strachan, former professor at Midwestern Baptist Seminary and founding faculty at Grace Bible Theological Seminary in Conway, AR, weighs in on this subject in his podcast The Antithesis. This episode is entitled "Should You Obey Vaccine Mandates from Your Employer? A Biblical Approach to Governmental Authority". If you are wanting to think through this subject biblically, I recommend you listen to Dr. Strachan. He has done a lot of the heavy lifting already, and you will be enriched by his biblically-based study. You may not agree with all of his conclusions, but I encourage you to engage with his arguments and think deeply and Scripturally about this. See you in church! Grace and peace, Pastor Greg |
