Greetings, Church Family and Friends!
Thanks to all who came for work day this morning! We were comparatively few in number, but those who came were able to accomplish quite a bit. The youth room is now primed and ready for paint, a new handrail was installed in the stairway leading to the crow's nest, and the church property to the south of our building has been spruced up. We still have sheetrock to hang in the Old Sanctuary loft and aluminum siding to hang on the storage shed, so be thinking about participating in those projects next time!
Take a few moments to prepare your heart for the Lord's Day  as we gather as the people of God to magnify and exalt Him tomorrow morning.

THE LORD'S DAY (3/24)
  • Bible Study for All Ages, 9:30 am. Nursery through Senior Adults, we have a group for you!
  • Worship Together at 10:40 am in the Sanctuary.  We will be taking a three-week break from our study through the book of Acts in order to focus on Palm Sunday (3/24), Resurrection Sunday (3/31), and our observance of the Lord's Supper (4/7). This week we will consider Matthew 21:1-17, Jesus' triumphal entry into Jerusalem with a sermon entitled "Blessed Is He Who Comes in the Name of the Lord!"
  • Scriptures for Sunday.  Here are the Scriptures we will be reading that will shape our corporate worship. Take a few moments to read and meditate on them as you prepare for worship tomorrow. Click anywhere on the link to see a printable version of these passages on biblegateway.com
  • Call to Worship: Psalm 118:1-2, 19-29
  • Scripture Reading: Isaiah 52:13 - 53:12
  • Assurance of Pardon: Isaiah 53:4-5
  • Sermon Text: Matthew 20:17-19; 21:1-17
  • Benediction: Numbers 6:24-26

Baptist Catechism Questions #111-112 "On the Lord's Prayer"
  • Question 111: What does the preface of the Lord’s Prayer teach us?
    Answer:
The preface of the Lord’s Prayer, which is, "Our Father, who art in heaven," teaches us to draw near to God, with holy reverence and confidence, as children to a father, able and ready to help us, and that we should pray with and for others.

    Scripture: Matthew 6:9; Luke 11:13; Romans 8:15; Acts 12:5; 1 Timothy 2:1-3.

Question 112: What do we pray for in the first petition of the Lord’s Prayer?
    Answer:
In the first petition, which is "Hallowed be thy name," we pray that God would enable us and others to glorify him in all of life, and that he would dispose all things to his own glory.

    Scripture: Matthew 6:9; Psalm 67:1-3; Romans 11:36; Revelation 4:11; 1 Corinthians 10:31.

FIGHTER VERSE: Our Fighter Verse this week is Ephesians 2:1-3
"And you were dead in the trespasses and sins in which you once walked, following the course of this world, following the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience—  among whom we all once lived in the passions of our flesh, carrying out the desires of the body and the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, like the rest of mankind."

READ THROUGH THE BIBLE The Five-Day Bible Reading Plan for 2024 is attached to this e-mail for your convenience. Plan to make this year a year centered on God's Word. One way to do that is by having a definite plan to read Scripture this year. You may want to access additional resources to support your reading available at this website. If you would like to see other Bible reading plans, visit ligonier.org/posts/bible-reading-plans  .

See you in church!

Grace & Peace,
