GREETINGS, EVERYONE! We want to extend Christian sympathy to a family in our community, John and Renee Baker, whose youngest son, Daniel, passed away last week. Graveside services will be held at Bethel Cemetery this morning at 10 am. A memorial service is planned for next Saturday, April 30, at 5 pm at Hopewell Baptist Church. Our men know John and his older sons through the MACH 4 men's ministry, and the family have Baker Auto Repair in Maysville.

GREETINGS, EVERYONE! This week, a family in our community experienced a house fire. No one was hurt, but most of the things inside were either lost to the flames or damaged by the water. It took several hours to get it under control. They were able to get their three small children's clothes, a few toys, and a child's headboard out of the house before the fire spread to the downstairs. Lorie Scott is organizing a clothing and monetary drive for the family. The following items are needed:
Bring items to the church and place them on a table in the foyer. Monetary gifts can be brought to the church office as well. Ukraine Relief. Thank you for your gifts to provide humanitarian aid to refugees fleeing Ukraine for Poland, Romania, and other bordering nations. You have given $1150 so far! TODAY (4/16): EASTER CHILDREN'S PARTY, immediately following the city Easter egg hunt. All children through 6th grade are welcome to attend with their parents. Egg hunt, candy, and a clear Gospel presentation, beginning at about 10:30 am at the church. A brief video presentation of the Gospel will follow the egg hunt. We need adult workers, so come on out and help us! THE LORD'S DAY (4/17): RESURRECTION SUNDAY!

See you in church! Grace and peace, Pastor Greg Attachments area GREETINGS, EVERYONE! Today is a busy day with several things going on. Here is what's happening:
TOMORROW: This Lord's Day is known as "Palm Sunday" or "Passion Sunday" on the traditional Christian calendar. "Palm Sunday" acknowledges triumphal entry into Jerusalem on the foal of a donkey while the people waved palm branches and shouted "Hosanna to the son of David! Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!" The term "Passion Sunday" is used in the sense of Christ's passion (suffering) and death on the cross of Calvary as our substitute, atoning for our sins with His own body as the sacrifice. Tomorrow we will remember Jesus' death by observing the Lord's Supper. I encourage you to be present as we hear the Gospel preached and see it put on display in the ordinance of the Lord's Supper. Please take time to prepare your heart to receive the Lord's Supper by engaging in self-examination. Some starter questions to use for self-examination are attached to this email. We will also receive a benevolent offering which is administered by our deacons to serve the needs of our church family in times of extreme need, unforeseen circumstances, or crisis. Please pray and ask God how He would have you to give to this offering. THE LORD'S DAY (4/10)

We had a great time attending Midland Ministries' "Movie-Pizza-Ice Skating" event last night in St. Joe with about a hundred other teens and sponsors. God worked in the hearts of several of our teens as the Gospel was clearly communicated. I would like to thank the eight students and two other parents who represented our church. You did so very well, and I am so thankful to see new interest in the things of the Lord among our teens.

MAN KNOWS NOT HIS TIME: We extend Christian sympathy to the family of Gary Hall who passed away on Tuesday evening after a hospitalization. Gary was husband to Jeannie Stahl Hall and brother-in-law to Randy & Mary Morrow, Larry & Alice Stahl, Laura Ruth Barnes, Ronnie and Lou Stahl, and all the Stahl siblings. Services are tentatively scheduled for Saturday, April 9, here at First Baptist under the direction of Turner Family Funeral Homes. Finalized times will be published when they are available. (Many will remember that Gary and Jeannie participated in our fellowship for several months as they were moving from Georgia to St. Joseph a few years ago, helping in VBS and generally encouraging myself and all of us by their presence and participation). BONUS: We will be singing a song by Keith and Kristyn Getty and Matt Papa tomorrow entitled "Christ, Our Hope in Life and Death." The choir will be introducing it as an ensemble, but we want you to learn it and add it to your worship song arsenal. Take a listen to the choir and orchestra of FBC Dallas, TX, sharing it and leading that congregation in worship through it. It is based on words from the first question and answer in the Heidelberg Catechism, "What is your only comfort in life and in death?" Answer, "That I am not my own, but belong - body and soul, in life and in death - to my faithful Savior, Jesus Christ." What immense comfort these words bring to the heart of a believer in Jesus! See you in church! Grace and peace, Pastor Greg GREETINGS, EVERYONE! We continue to pray for our Ukrainian brothers and sisters as the conflict with Russia persists. Thank you for the $460 given so far for the relief efforts through Send Relief. If you would like to give, you may designate your offering envelope "Ukraine Relief" or give online here. Last week, I shared links to articles pointing to what the Lord is doing in the midst of the conflict. Below are more encouraging stories that will also help you know how to pray for fellow believers as well as for those who are coming to Christ through the evangelistic efforts of many in that part of the world.

We had an outstanding group out for the day of rehearsal and presentation. If you would like to view and listen to the concert, it is available on the MMM Facebook page here. Enjoy! See you in church! Grace and peace, Pastor Greg GREETINGS, EVERYONE! We continue to pray for our Ukrainian brothers and sisters as the conflict with Russia persists. Some have sought refuge in neighboring countries. Missionary friends of ours serving with Campus Crusade in Poland have received some Ukrainian refugees. Others are choosing to find safer places within Ukraine to stay. While this is the season when we typically focus on our North American mission offering (Annie Armstrong Easter Offering or "AAEO"), if you have to choose I would suggest the more immediate need is Ukraine relief. You may designate your offering envelope "Ukraine Relief" or give online here.

I thought it might be good preparation for our time in the word of God tomorrow as we look at Luke 10:1-16. Take a listen and be blessed. See you in church! Grace and peace, Pastor Greg GREETINGS, EVERYONE! Thanks to everyone who came out for the Superbowl Party last Sunday evening, and especially those who brought soups. This year's chili cookoff entries were notable for their absence this year. Out of the five entries in the soup/chili cookoff, none were chili! But it all tasted good, and we enjoyed good fellowship together. The game was merely an occasion to get together. Adults and kids played board games and worked puzzles together. The football-minded watched the game on the "Big Screen." At half-time, we were encouraged by Christian testimonies from professional football players via video. A big "thank you" to Pastor Kyle and Sue for coordinating the evening for us.

READ THROUGH THE BIBLE The Five-Day Bible Reading Plan is attached to this e-mail for your convenience. You may want to access additional resources to support your reading available at this website. BONUS: While we are on the subject of reading through the Bible, I want to share something with you from my own personal devotional reading of God's word not all that long ago. Psalm 119 was one of the readings in my effort to read the Bible through. I began this plan at the beginning of 2021, and I am just a little over halfway through. My "read the Bible through in a year" is becoming more like an 18 to 24-month project. But with the Lord's help, I am seeking to be more consistent. (I am not a fast reader, but when reading Scripture, it is doubtful we should be trying to read the text as quickly as possible. Rather, we ought to meditate on it, ruminate over it, and be marinated in it, as it were). But on that day, Jan. 6, I was struck by the word "revive" in Psalm 119. To renew, to make alive again, to resurrect, to awaken -- all could be synonyms for "revive." It is a common refrain. It is found in the following verses: 25b - "Revive me according to Your word" 37b - "...revive me in Your ways" 40b - "Revive me through Your righteousness" 88a - "Revive me according to Your lovingkindness" 93b - "...by [Your precepts] You have revived me" 107b - "Revive me, O LORD, according to Your word" 149b - "Revive me, O LORD, according to Your ordinances" 154b - "Revive me according to Your word" 156b - "Revive me according to Your ordinances" 159b - "Revive me according to Your lovingkindness" Ten times in Psalm 119 in the New American Standard Bible this word "revive" occurs. May it be my (and our) constant prayer personally, for our families, and for our church. See you in church! Grace and peace, Pastor Greg GREETINGS, EVERYONE! I hope everyone has been enjoying the milder weather this week. We returned last night (early this morning) from Oklahoma City and moving Hannah into her apartment. Thanks for the prayers for travel and safety.
TODAY is the last Bible Quiz of the regular season, beginning at 12:30 and going till about 4 pm at Journey Baptist Church in St. Joseph, 5708 King Hill Ave. If you would like to go and support our church's team, "Sojourners," you are more than welcome to do so. Please pray for them as they compete today. MACH IV Men's Ministry will be meeting this evening at 6 pm at Fairport Baptist for the regular meal and ministry time.
